So easy to put a minimum local content stipulation in at the beginning of any negotiations Mark, total lack of political will and long term vision by all the political parties. Tens of thousands of jobs being lost 😡

Not a good situation then.

No and whilst we can possibly see a pure profit Tory free market mentality as a possible cause I have yet to hear a single word from any labour politician stating they would insist upon manufacturing even a percentage on our shores. All we hear is lying BS about us becoming a global renewable powerhouse “ utter lies and Starmer knows it”

🤔mmm well not that far Mark

just some common sense would be nice, I see Sweden are taking the foot off the green pedal a bit and reconsidering options for a reliable base load capacity.

Wind energy agreements have generated windfall that would normally go towards monarchy

Follow the money Mark not unlike covid bud, crown estate seabed portfolio !!!!! WTF 🤷‍♂️

Everywhere you look the public are being fleeced, the list of major shareholders in Thames Water and how much they have taken out is a real eye opener too.

Norway has approved 19 new oil and gas projects in its waters, with total investment topping NOK...

In the meantime we pander to the just stop oil and net zero fools that Starmer courts, the UK is genuinely being led by fools and ****************ed over whatever way you look it would seem. But hey at least we are good at promoting LGBTQ+ values 👍👍

Cash in the bank for me then. :D

We've just won a 5 year contract (with optional 4 year extension) with Var Energy. Although the link says its a Drilling Contract its not really the case as Var will have their own chosen Drilling Firm and Halliburton provides the Directional Drilling, Measuring While Drilling (MWD) Fluids (Mud) Cementing, CleanWell, Lower and Upper Completions and Perforation. Basically just Red Coveralls on the Rigs :D

The way Norway refuses to pander to the Left will keep me in work til I retire.

U.S. oilfield services provider Halliburton said on Thursday it would enter into a long-term agreement with Norwegian oil and gas company Var Energi for drilling services.

The only silver lining is that we are ‘keeping our powder dry’ so to speak. The oil will still be there when all this nonsense is finished with and we really need it.

There is that, but the infrastructure in the UK Sector is crumbling due to lack of investment and there is no incentive to invest when the Politicians keep pandering to the Left and threaten to shut them down.

It's a global business, they'll always want the cheapest option.

Its a Global business yes, but it does not have to be done this way. Norway (as per usual) having very strong unions have laws in place that block what they call 'social dumping'. Meaning that Firms cant hire in cheap foreign labour at the expense of the local population. If specialized skills are not demonstratively available in the Norwegian market they can hire out-with Norway, this is closely monitored by the Unions who's bite is as strong as their bark is loud. When hiring a foreigner they must be paid a Norwegian Wage that is on the Matrix levels of pay according to their skill level. This making hiring someone that does not speak Norwegian not an attractive prospect.

Pity the powers that be here in Ireland have completely banned future oil exploration and refused permission to extract what has already been discovered, then simultaneously also refuse permission to develop the port in rosaveel to be capable of providing docks for vessels to build the offshore windfarms designed to replace the aforementioned oil and gas. The lng terminal got the go ahead though, so at least we can store a couple of weeks worth of imported gas... if they ever finish it.

It is a ludicrous situation where we line the pockets of dictatorships and countries who exploit the staff on the ground and pay mega high prices to buy resources we should be using and selling ourselves.

Just in case you thought Scotland was alone in wasting opportunities.
