There is a massive difference I think in how long you are invested for - Prime Ministers are fighting to keep their jobs from day 1, all their policies have to be pleasing else they are out the door.. look to the politics on this forum to see how quick the crowd turns if they are unhappy, where as the king in invested in being the king for the next lot of years... a long term project and has the foresight to look long term in the future. Could cause 'discussion' here but the House of Lords has a similar long term view of the world, rejecting the quick fixes that will break in 3 or 4 years but looking to a long term for changes.

Agree with all of that. I was making a somewhat tongue in cheek suggestion; based on his values and character, rather than the practicalities of the idea. He seems to me to be someone motivated largely by altruism, unlike most politicians today. Just look at his work on environmentalism, visionary, decades ahead of most other institutions, or indeed people.

When I met him I was part of a scheme giving offenders a crack at becoming a part of society once again, I along with a few others had to keep around a dozen of these guys in check, split into 4-6 groups, I had a recovering alcoholic who became violent when drunk, and often violent when he couldn't get any alcohol, threatened to kill me once 'cos I poured his vodka in the river, all  minor offenders really, but still needed a heavy but fair hand.

he spoke to every one of them, showing great interest in their enthusiasm to be something in life, and after he left they all commented how he was a great bloke and they were amazed he even spoke to them. the positive change in their manner was very noticeable after he left.

he even had a go at doing some of the work himself, and as I said in another post, enjoyed it too.

Here he is trying his hand as a reed cutter, with the late great Eric Edwards. another old gentleman who was to become a friend to him long after that day.

Aw shucks,  not you again Blagger. Are you still smarting after getting called out for your BS again? Let it go.

Called out 🤔🤔really 42 I answered you with facts from the BMA and Gov websites 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️how’s that you calling anyone out 🤷‍♂️. Try and be a bit original 42, there seems to be a queue of the ATL wanting to wipe SPs arse, very charitable but not really productive long term.
You know I’m not surprised you feel a bond with SP that’s more than just your libtard politics, you both have a habit of literally making up pure bollocks and running with it 🤷‍♂️” smarting and called out “ 😂😂😂

Thats 100% in your head 42 I’m afraid.

are you still talking about illegal immigrants or asylum seekers (who are here according to UK and international laws, legally)?

  • Excerpt from GOV UK
  •  those making these crossings are coming from safe countries, such as France, where they could have claimed asylum.
  • More recently, we have seen large numbers of people making these dangerous journeys who are from well-established safe countries, where it is clear they are not at risk of persecution.
  • these clearly are NOT seeking asylum, they come here because it's easy to exploit the system.
  • I don't see any other countries putting them in feckin' hotels, and giving the them the benefits they get here.

However the conversation has moved on since then - King Charles - good or bad?

Loose ends first blagger , you can’t be trusted SP to answer  questions therefore you don’t get to ask them , how many times have you been told that now 🤷‍♂️

He seems to have done a decent job since getting promoted.
He did say that, as King, he would steer clear of controversy, and so far has been as good as his word.

There was also confusion in the cockpit. In the voice recording, one of the pilots...

I would have thought that it shouldn't be that easy to just shut the fuel off manually! I know they have to if an engine catches fire but with modern tech the computer should go 'err what, no fires no alarms going off 100 feet above the ground and you want to shut the engines down.'

Suicide I guess as no terrorist organisation has claimed responsibility.

Tragic loss of life.
