I’ll leave this thought with you, I bet he doesn’t pray underneath a car again. So much time and effort put in by the libtards on here and I have coloured and those of a Muslim faith laughing at you daft buggers tying yourself in knots trying to play the racism card.

Ha, come on. when did I play the racism card? Yeah, the poor fcker probably wont work again due to his life changing injuries.

now you're just being an argumentative thrush.

I'll tell you one thing I do,

"make sure the vehicle is stable and safe before going under it"

oh and one thing I don't do is pray under the feckin' thing even if I checked it for proper placement on the lift.

Well no, im not being argumentative im being realistic. Ive worked under cars on and off for over 30 years. Yes I wouldnt work on one unless it was stable but once it is I can do whatever I like, although I wouldnt pray, thats for sure. Have you ever worked under a car? Have you ever sat there working out what to do next as the ball joint just will not budge or trying to line up a clutch because the gearbox shaft just wont go in?

now I agree, you are being realistic, in fact you have more or less confirmed all  that I previously stated.

and yes I worked under plenty of cars, 4x4,s, lorries, and agricultural vehicles, still do at 72 when necessary, prefer a 4 post with wheels free capability.

built and prepared rally spec cars, built rac spec roll cages, and played a large part in preparing a private paris/dakar  400hp small block powered 110 land rover.and built my own hot rods and raced them, so not unfamiliar with garage life at all.

I like to think I have taught some budding enthusiastic trainees with enough knowledge and savvy not to take chances under elevated vehicles.

Reported on news tonight that a seven year old girl has died after a tree"collapsed" in a public park in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Another six year old in hospital with life threatening injuries.

Tragic news.

Bit weird too, looks like a fairly catastrophic failure; not just a limb drop. No clues in the story so far, no report of a storm or high winds or anything.

Police say another child, aged six, is in a serious condition.

I’ve just read the last few pages posts out to the dive team here including two local St Vincent guys, a crane op from Jamaica and a concrete pump operator from Suriname who is Muslim, the general consensus is the guy was a bloody fool ( including from our Muslim teammate here)

Btw, do you not realise how that is totally irrelevant that is?

If I asked my neighbour would he be OK to dangle 60 feet up in a tree and take 5 mins to reflect on things, have a smoke break, plan his next move, or just to do fck all for a bit and he said anyone who does that is a bloody fool, would his opinion even matter? Of course it wouldnt and I would be a bit of a prick to think that it did.

as an old bastard of 72 I cannot image a life ending so tragically abruptly.

I recal an incident a few years ago whereby a group of children were under the supervision of a teacher or leader of some sort who told them to pitch tents under a large and obvious to anyone with knowledge of unstable trees, with no apparent warning, no winds, or rain, that tree fractured and with devastating results, a loss of life of a young person who to quote Neil Young,

That's one more kid, that'll never go to school
Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool"

I felled an awful lot of trees after that tragic event around the area.

maybe I and others like me contributed to saving a few from a similar fate.

Common sense is common sense although not so much nowadays it would seem. What’s irrelevant about pointing out the stupidity of where he set up to pray 🤷‍♂️

Here you are late on a sat night still picking away at it. The guy was a bloody fool and more than likely judging by the state of the garage in the pics and the multitude of directors in and out I’d imagine training and health and safety are not high priorities.
OK yes or no was it a good place to pray ??

Indeed.

I've read that a couple of times, but I feel like I've missed a word or two somewhere. (Though it's been a hot day and the Budvars are beautifully cold this evening).

What were the obvious signs of impending fracture?

there were I was led to believe several concerns about the condition of the tree, that were either ignored or dismissed I was not personally involved with that individual tree, but in the period after the death and injuries caused by it the other surrounding woodland owners who opened to the public including my own place of residence took steps to avoid a repeat of it .

there was an active court case that went on for years trying to apportion blame for the accident but the organisation was cleared of blame, many people around here, many of whom knew of the warnings that were not adhered to, but their opinions were not sought.

I heard at one stage an attempt to hold the teacher/person in charge was even leveled, but dismissed.
