Taken from another website:

These are the stated aims of the European People's Party, the largest political grouping in the EU:-

What do we want for Europe’s future?

• We want a European Political Union. The EU will, over the

coming years, have to be fundamentally reformed. The

Union and the Member States will exercise more powers

jointly.

• In future European elections, citizens must be able to

make clear and comprehensible choices about the policies

of the European Commission. The first steps in this respect

are truly pan-European elections as well as a direct .

election by the people of the President of the European

Commission.

• The key to Europe’s future is combining budgetary

discipline and the promotion of sustainable growth, while

safeguarding social Europe and defending the Euro are

among the most profound expressions of the European

integration process.

• This means modernising our economies and reducing

bureaucracy as well as strengthening fiscal and economic

governance at the EU level. It also means working harder

and longer. We all have to develop smarter ways of saving

as well as spending. In the EU, solidarity is best translated

into practice through the implementation of territorial,

economic and social cohesion.

• We need to complete the Single Market. Removing the

last obstacles to a truly free movement of people,

services, goods and capital will be indispensable.

• Our common Immigration and Asylum Policy has to be

further strengthened,

• We have to reinforce the Europe of citizens, ensuring that

they can enjoy their rights within an Area of Freedom,

Security and Justice. This means we have to reinforce the

free movement of citizens.

• The European Union needs a common energy policy that

provides energy security,

• We need a real European foreign policy in which our

Member States speak with one voice and amalgamate

their strengths. This will mean that more EU foreign policy

decisions are taken by a vote and not unanimously.

And don’t forget their aims of the Proposed European armed forces, in spite of NATO doing the job over a number of years

Do you really fancy being involved with the upcoming superstate?

just come back from hols in France - was told about blockades in Vendee and all over, seems people power forced Macrons hand into a permanent U turn on the fuel duty. If it was here the Conservatives would have cleared the trouble makers with tanks - at least I like to think so lol

We get rid of of our crap policies by threatening our governments in an election..  a lesson the french might want to take note of...

Tuesdays brexit vote.. she's gonna lose big time..

The road map to sanity..  a hard brexit is dead in the water.. no way is it ever gonna happen..  we can have a soft brexit..  Mays Brexit..  not looking good is it.. or no brexit at all..

The issue to hand for the brextremists is sovereignty.. what sovereignty is it when we have to play second fiddle to our European masters in a soft brexit.. none at all..

We haven't gained any sovereignty with a soft brexit but diminished our own sovereignty by losing any power we had inside Europe..   Theres one solution..  swallow our pride and kick brexit into the long grass..

To this end we need a hardcore Tory brexiteer to sell this new reality to Parliament and the people..

Step aside Theresa May and let in Boris to deliver the coup de gras.....   Boris gets what he wants, to be Prime Minister.. we get a brexiteer to do their own dirty work..  and we all get to see Corbyn is never elected Prime Minister..

Its not like Brexit was ever gonna happen so everones a winner....

More chance of a widow maker falling on you.

Are you limiting that risk to people working in arboriculture and forestry generally, or including the public at large?

annually deaths involving trees (I think to the public at large) average, over a ten year record keeping period, slightly less than six. How many people have died this year in the UK in terrorist attacks? I don' actually know.

ok mr pedant. as Rick from the young ones would say, "most metaphors don't stand up to close scrutiny" :thumbup1:

Since 2000, there have been seven deaths per year in the UK due to terrorism - which, according to research from BuzzFeed, means you're more likely to be killed by dogs (18 deaths per year), hot water (100 deaths per year) or using your phone while driving (2,920 deaths per year).
