That is true Felix, but I can't help noticing you're more likely to be dealt a good one the harder you are prepared to graft.

Agreed, mate. The best type of help is helping yourself but sometimes we all need a bit of additional help when the brown and smelly hits the fan. There have been a few examples on here where the Arbtalk community have helped members out in need and the welfare system is a national extension of that. We all know the poverty porn dished up by Channel 5 (owned by Richard Desmond who also owns The Express) of feckless wasters but they are cherry picked examples. I'm talking about genuine cases of misfortune or illness. :001_smile:

While we are bashing each other over politics....

Why does not one single Tory want the top job?

If there was a vote of no confidence Mrs May would be out of a job after the recent election result.

Boris, Davis, that woman who's name evades me don't want to know.

Because ,IIRC, if May goes within a month of the election, the Opposition can demand a fresh election. :001_smile:

I think it's a poisoned chalice being pm at the moment. I don't think she's the best leader by any stretch but I do respect her for taking on the job after Cameron bottled it. Being pm right now means your job is to get us out of the EU and with almost half the vote wanting to stay you're bound to go down in history unfavourably and be the subject of hate while in the job

And she might stand a better chance of getting on with the big issues if she ignored the media clamour and celebrity TV style demands that she turn up at just about every incident on a daily basis.

Apparently there's a tractor trailer shed a load of hay just outside Praze-an-Beeble and a car with a tyre needs changing in Aberystwyth. Special advisors can't decide which one she should attend first!

I remember Aberystwyth, and that song Tony Christie sang about it.

Definitely. Politics has turned into the new big brother where all that counts is how many Twitter followers you can get. We need the services to do their job and the politicians getting on with there's, not showing up with crocodile tears everyone someone stubs their toe

Spot on Dan.

I had some dog crap to clear off the lawn late last night and I was pretty surprised Jeremy didn't show up to offer his solidarity.

He's about as genuine as Bono.

Mark J you seem like one of the most intelligent lads in here, your support for him surprises me.

I'm no fan of May either, before you start Eggs.
