I think on balance a manager should be paid more than people "on the tools"

What is going on in big business all over the country? Or do you mean management getting paid more than "workers"?

Really?

Why is this going to hit my pocket?

I'll do this slowly Richard.

When I worked for the local Water Authority I could earn good money, I had to do my normal working week plus stand-by and call out to get that money.

A new Manager came in there that hadn't got a clue what we did, but she'd got a Degree..... in fecking Geography! What good is that when the business we worked in was Biological based?

We had a failed Rising Main going into one of the biggest Sewage works in East Anglia, her and three other well paid managers gave the go ahead for the lads to cut into that Main to start the repair. If they would have done none of those lads would have got out of the hole before it flooded. There was 30'odd Shite tankers around Bury-St-Edmunds on pumping stations, they weren't needed.

These people cost me and you money. If you choose to ignore what's going on that's up to you.

I don't really understand what you are trying to say they did wrong (the managers)

But the suggestion you are making is that the business owner (for example)should earn nothing and the tea person should be the highest paid?

Do you really think that the management should be paid less than the people they have to manage?

If you really believe that you are more extreme than Jeremy!

When I was employed I earned more than the Managers that I worked for.

They did a 40 hour week for a salary I did many more hours on an hourly rate.:001_rolleyes:

If you don't see the rest it's time to pack in.

I do see the rest I just think you are wrong.

The whole idea means that people are punished for trying to better themselves, it's stupid.

The fact that you can't see an educated manager with a degree in geography getting a water job decision wrong makes me wonder how you view life Richard? Are you being serious?

When did I say they didn't get it wrong?

I said I don't understand what they got wrong!

Perhaps the manager should have had the relevant qualities for the job?

That falls to whoever employed them.

Besides one minute eggs is saying that the managers got paid more then decided that he got paid more.
