One thing to think about when looking around the 100bhp mark you can get a tractor from the top of a smaller range or the smallest from a bigger range. Had a 5445 Massey on hire recently which was not an enjoyable time. Run an agrotron 115 normally which is smallest of the range and much nicer even if 10yrs older.

very true i use a 6170 massey where you could use a 390 because you get more height this gives better visibility and better visibility gives better control also easier to control,

you also get a comfy cab and usually better hydraulics and user friendly controls

also you get a heavier tractor that will handle better towing trailers and working implements

also small large tractors are less sought after by smallholders making them much cheaper than large small tractors (based on their capability)

i would recommend 6270, 6280 massey and onwards, they have strong economical engines and tough electric gearboxes

6600, 6610, 6810 etc. john deere because good hydraulic gearboxes but not 20 series because they have poor (electric) gear boxes

i would not recommend new holland tm series, there are tons of new ones running around but only until the warranty runs out then they get launched

anything Renault, claas (renault in disguise), jcb,

but what was disturbing about the 5445?

Really liking my 399, she's heavy and very stable on bad ground with ballasted tires, plenty of low down grunt off road but just wish it was faster on the road as by the time you get anywhere you've forgotten why you went. And that's the only reason why I'd change it.

What is the issue for road use? Let down by the topspeedo or too long to get to it? My little agt is road registered as i have several sites within a Km of each other so i am well used to slow tractors ( i was overtaken by a primary school kid on a push bike not long ago).

For a full size i will be doing a few 3 or 4 mile trips.

Low top speed is the problem as we can cover bigger distances between sites especially working for County council on road jobs, tractor isn't out often but I'd think if it was quicker it's go out more.

For what your doing it's absolutely fine.
