Firewood processors on ebay

And?

Or, rather how do DERFA know, does the vendor inform them?

Hardly ah fink!

I was part the way through putting in a grant applic for the last round of funding. Under the terms and conditions people had to be employed to process the timber and deliver it, this could be fairly easily checked by the powers that be. So if the people had gone then you may get a follow up visit. got a feeling that there were random inspections anyway.

I saw what was coming, warm winters, oil price, Ash die back, every farmers son with a saw selling diseased ash logs for beer money, so I pulled out of the application and am importing what I need. Still got my little tractor and processor as the tide may turn.

I get offers of Baltic firewood almost every week and I know a few lads locally that have went down this road and one managed to get ripped off after dealing with the same seller for a few loads. I guess it will run its course. I expect if oil price rises and with it the transport costs and the shift in exchange rate with the €uro it probably won't be as attractive before long. Also, I'd expect after Brexit transporting firewood in and out of EU member states could carry a tariff or at least an amount of customs declarations etc. Could even be a restriction on moving untreated timber to control disease. In America they have "burn it where you buy it policy"

Loads of trade in's on the jas p Wilsons site.

I've just had a look at their website. Something that annoys the hell out of me is why no prices? What is he trying to hide? It's not a state secret so put up the prices and save each other a lot of time emailing/calling each other. I won't deal with someone who won't display their prices.

My pet hate!

Rant over.
