Thought i recognised Al's truck...Saw the job when he posted pics of those leaning stems and with Ivy just to make things worse.Small bites was definately the safest solution.Well done chaps,i bet you were happy when you got your feet back on the ground.Did Al get the pints in afterwards? He's a great bloke to work for.

What you can't see from any of the photos is just how exposed the work position was.

The trees were half out the ground on the top edge of an extremely steep sandy bank and they were leaning severely.

We set Jon's rope through the top of a skinny Robinia as a redirect and then anchored to a Sycamore behind that, way back from the slope.

The drop zone was a very rotten deck that was on 10ft tall stilts!

It was a crane job really but that would have meant a road closure and taking down 6 phone lines.
