Anyway, don't worry about the climbing thing, keep your hand in with some reccy climbs, but tell someone where you are or don't do it alone.

 

I used to find a tree with a reasonable spread, anchor in and go the the end (or as close as I could reach comfortably) of every branch to improve my route management.

There was no hurry, took as long as I liked.

 

You'll be fine.

I'd just go climb some trees at your local park. If anyone kicks off, politely explain you can't hear them and you'll have have a chat when you've finished. It's not uncommon to hit a wall and fear is to be welcomed and managed. You are, after all, swinging around up a tree. Good luck mate.

Well done mate, if your investing that much in a job you have only just begun in you will go far. Fear is a good thing it keeps you safe, it makes you stop and think. I assume you come from a tree family? Remember to play safe, and have a second climber on site. As long as you listen n learn from those who have seen it all before you will be a asset to any tree team looking at how far you've got for your age :thumbup1:
