75mm+ forstner bits

Since my request went unanswered on the wine bottle thread, I am looking for advice on which bit i should be looking at.

The job at hand, hopefully is to make a rustic centre piece wine rack for our new front room . Unsure of sizes etc. But ideally will hold 6+ wine bottles.

I have looked at the Milwaukee bits which have a replacement cutter but are currently out of stock, the colt version looks the dogs, but so is the price

So any suggestions greatfully received

Bit I used was a Dewalt 92mm diameter self feed cutter - with extension bar, bought via amazon.

Holesaws are grim to use in damp timber and not much fun in thick timber anyway. I had to make a few big holes with a good quality holesaw in green Oak and the dust and shavings just gummed the thing up constantly....

Thanks, yes read the thread. Looks like I might of got a drill in the pipeline

I enquired about these bits years ago on here after seeing some amazing pieces by a company called 'Rack & Ruin' at a Game Fair.

What sort of drill would you need?

Pillar drill isn't an option for me until I retire in 2089.

I saw a little bit you attached to the end of a chainsaw bar a while back to allow precise bore cutting for holes like that.

 

Never been able to find one though.

I've got to pull my finger out and get my Pattern Mill powered up and aligned. It will be just the weapon for jobs like wine racks
