Things i was picked up on were both related to warming up the 020 before i went up.

I didnt use gloves, as i thought you dont need to, seeing as you dont have to use them when using the saw in a tree, but it was "brought to my attention" by the assessor that i did have to.

Secondly i drop started the 020 from cold, as appose to starting it on the ground like your meant to with a ground saw. I thought because of the design of the 020, and seeing it had no back handle i could drop start it, like you do when your in a tree. Apparently not lol had to start it like you would a ground saw.

hope that helps mate, good luck!

just take as much time as you like and get your cuts spot on , if the assesor is a decent one he would rather see you being safe and competent at the end of the day its all geared around health and saftey so get your positioning right and all ways put your brake on if your about to take a hand off and move ! :001_smile: good luck

You dont- the assessor was wrong.

Chain brake, two hands on saw (its an assessment not real life remember), chain brake, dont use a pushing chain on hand held sink cut, chain brake (the assessor can hear the rim sprocket rattling BTW so dont think you can forget that one!) and dont argue with the guy like a guy i heard about!!!

Relax, take your time and position yourself well- one handed saw use is considered to be a sign of poor positioning in an assessment.

Good luck mate, you'll be fine.:001_smile:
