..... you do not want the safest helmet on the market right now because you fear what other people may say???!!!

We have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, do everything you can and spend what you need to make sure you go home safe at the end of the day.

(If needs be get the sena kit fitted and just turn your music up so you can't hear the jealousy 😉)

[emoji28] yeah climbing trees like kids do and cutting bits off is certain death. Who do these firefighters and soldiers think they are pretending to do more dangerous things

Perhaps! I sometimes read people comments on here or the various Facebook pages about tree work and see some of the people thinking it all super dangerous, and think to myself is this line of work really for you?

Ahh bless you, I ment this for real arborist that climb real trees, ladder loving landscapers pruning apple trees wouldn't really understand.

Fun and jest aside

Maybe search Google for most fatal jobs, or the drip line.

How often are firefighters or soldiers actually in the thick of it?

As arborists we are most days of the week!

Over 100ft in the air daily balancing on two small spikes with a bit of 10mm rope keeping you upright as we cut huge 'bits' of weight off above us with a chainsaw... that's pretty dangerous no? maybe other days your life is hanging nearer 200ft from the ground by an 11mm rope or an 8mm hitch cord or a wrist size branch, again whilst using a chainsaw or even more dangerously a silky! a slip absolutely could be certain death!!

Probably should mention, here in the pnw the trees are a bit bigger than some others ... and so are the chippers!!!

I'm not trying to sound like a hero just want to make you aware that the world is far bigger than your back yard and we don't all have the joy of fun jungle gyms to play in like children.

Maybe you should make it your mission to push your limits and work on bigger/trickier trees to see if YOU are still as comfortable!? it all sounds easy till its you in the driving seat!

This made me lol a lot, as I have no left hand your pretty much spot on! How well could you all cope with that?

So as I first mentioned don't listen to fools it's not their life on the line, buy the best ppe and safety equipment you can afford.

(Not here to upset or offend but to answer your presumptions :001_smile:)
