Seriously, order the little trial pack on the website I posted. Its brilliant stuff

I was just doing the maths on how many £50 packs would see me through a month of lunches!

Wow, wild west is cheaper than my supplier then. I get a discount when I buy ten bags, still more expensive. Had a taste of venison jerky from a friend who dried it in a low oven, was fantastic. Occasionally happen on roadkill deer, consumed three in the past seven years of so, next one will get turning into jerky. I don't like the oven idea though, says it takes six hours, even on low flame thats a lot of gas, and multiple goes. Been checking out the dehydrators, they about 150 quid. Will have to see how much power they draw.

I had to ration myself. I would plough through it

That's my worry, it could be a£200 a month habit!

At the moment I'm taking 80g tins of tuna infused with flavoured oils for lunch at £1 each.

that wild west jerky is crap. Tescos do a brand they market as billtong which isn't too bad. Stuff you find on the market is way ahead of the packaged stuff though. Must try that link Tommy posted. He's posted it several times before actually but I never got round to ordering. The fatty billtong is great for an energy boost for climbing

The link Tommy b put up is from the butcher that I use and I can 100% say the meat in this place is amazing! The biltong can be bought shredded or whole and is definitely worth a try they often have random biltong too..... Kudu.... Zebra etc
