you should be able to discern what species you have by looking at the end grain with a magnifying glass or jewelers lense.

there is a distinct difference in the width of the medullary ray and pore structure.

Pants? .... it may be a hybrid.... a Turkey oak cross pollinated with another oak. Not nescesarily pants but possibly pants.

It may also not be pants at all.

Looks like it has a good section of heartwood...that's in comparison to a few genuine Turkey oaks that's I've felled / with very little heartwood (hairy buds are probably the best way to find out if it's genuine Turkey oak).
