Felt a wee nippy pain just at the top of my boot line, pulled up my trouser leg and there was my first of the season tick having a good bite on me.

Been taking them of the dog for the last two weeks, Frontline back on her.

I hate ticks.

is there any tick reppelant for humans or would frontline work for us

U do get some types of clothes that are tick repellant, rovince is 1 and gets good reviews. Doubt they make cutting trousers thou.

They will make base layers stuff thou.

I imagine u all alrerady know about Lymes disease, if not have a read up on it, quite a bad disease that will floor u for life and relatively easily prevented, avoid getting bit and taking them of the right way (ie no vaseline or lighters or randomly pulling with fingers/tweezers)

Good reminder for vigilance if spending any amount of time in woodlands . There is a serious tick-borne encephalitis virus which is spreading in central Europe and there is no cure . It can be prevented by immunisation and i would urge anyone working over here to get it .

Hi, I've found that ticks in one form or another can be acquired most of the time, albeit far worse as the year warms up.

Regarding the ticks on the dog, I didn't like the adverse reactions that Frontline type products had on my last two, lethargy for a couple of weeks and off their food, so with my present canine friend for the last two years I've been giving her this M&C Protect-UM it's all natural and although she still gets a few but there's been a marked reduction with no side effects, no pesticides in her bloodstream and it works out at about the same price.

Haven't tried it on myself yet though.

Dutchie is on Advocat, which I've found far better than Frontline.

Still check a lot.

I'm always smothered in anti-mozzie stuff in the summer, but physical barriers like gaiters etc. help in infested areas.

Good heads up, these little buggers can screw up you or your dogs life if you don't take them seriously.
