Need a lighter saw with grunt.

Have now ordered the Echo CS501sx from Radmore & Tucker @ £470. I'll post my impressions soon.

Nose weight of a bar can make things feel much harder and the saw more unwieldy to use so i would say 15 in bar is plenty for most normal jobs. A lite powerhead is undermined by long bars IMO.

The balance is just super (with the 16" bar) and it cuts like a goodun but I shall keep my CS620SX as the difference in grunt (and weight) is quite pronounced and will still be needed for the big stuff.

It'll take a few gallons through it to reach it's full potential.

 

I run mine with a 20" bar and it flies through timber. (Oh yes, that could have something to do with the fact I'm running 1/4" 0.050 chain) ;)
