Some areas had also gone rotten where the ring were like the tree had died. Iv milled quite a few elms now never seen it before and only one large sweet chestnut.

I got my hands on some pippy oak 3 logs from the same tree and there it some sort of separation that has somehow happened at some point in its life anyone have a clue what can cause this to happen? Only thing I can think of is a lighting strike but I have no clue. I'm not upset about it a was aware of it and I chose to mill around it and still got plenty of decent wood from it. Thanks

Yeah I'm sure it's a good machine just hope it doesn't need to much tlc due to its age and only rear steering on the older ones. This just sold on ebay not long ago 5100 +vat. I'd love one .....

Elm on a back garden thro a narrow gate chainsaw milled the big log and halfed the smaller ones to get them out just befor Xmas then finished milling the half's in the good weather we've just had.

Yeah your probably right I do keep learning new stuff all time at minute I'm removing all the pumpkins to let the plant grow and have move root systems. I know I need to end up with just one pumpkin per plant when going for size.

Thankyou I was a bit late planting them I think they have got some growing to do yet. Gf wants a big pumpkin she having a bit of a competition with a work friend.

That's 3 of 7 pumpkin plants currently growing, second pic is 1 beetroot 1 onions 4 carrots 4 potatoes and the rest on the right is trees I'm growing. All just a bit of fun don't take it seriously.

That's a shame looked stunning. I enjoy growing trees myself haven't got many acer types tho just sugar maple and norway maple (crimson king).
