Putting aside all the politics and understandable agression surely the real questions we should be asking are; where does all this stolen kit go and who is buying it? Stop the demand for cheap stolen kit and then it's not worth nicking!

People will still nick it for themselves. Ime nearly all off it is still in the country it was stolen from and either being used by the thieves who took it or by your competition, that may not be direct competition but nevertheless by 'fellow' tree surgeons, foresters, landscapers etc.

My thinking is that there are three main reasons people steal

1 they have no morals, 2 they aren't going to get caught and 3 if they do get caught the consequences aren't bad enough to stop them in the first place.

Agree with all those points and I also believe most of it never leaves the country.... Bobs big bandit chipper that got stolen last week only showed back up again because it's not a timber wolf.

Don't feed the troll boys, lets all move on to more productive stuff and let the sad little creature die from lack of attention :001_smile:

This.

I'm gonna do some searching on which chainsaw trousers to order tomorrow.

Shame this important to the op and others thread has been tarnished

So the victim is to blame?

NO the victim is most certainly NOT to blame i never said that i actually said i sympathised with him. all i gave was some of the reasons why this type of crime are on the increase, but some folk on here don't listen to reason just soil their nappy, spit their dummy out and cry if anyone voices an opinion they dont want to hear because the screwed up at the ballot box!

He's worth a hundred of you, with your nasty, little, aggressive comments. It would make a pleasant change if you actually made reasoned comments instead of just being abusive. I've held off on this until now because, tbh, I'm sick of the arguments on here but here's a conundrum for you; if somebody is able enough to go out robbing then should they not be able to work instead? There is work out there if people want it but too many think they are above grafting for a living. I have every sympathy with people who rely on benefits through genuine need but have nothing but contempt for those who expect a free ride when they just can't be arsed to lift a finger. My observations come from real life, not the media, in case you were going to run out your usual 'demonisation of the working classes through the medium of Benefits street et al'. If anybody thinks that it is ok for some thieving turd to rob a working man then they are as low as the thief in the first place.

Well put
