Never changed a fuel filter, except when I ran over my saw and that was the least of my problems.

 

Also never cleaned the air filter and I only change sprockets when they're heavily worn. No problems so far.

 

I don't know how you can manage to get away with not cleaning air filters!

Should point out that the saws get used every day but not heavily by any means. Could be because it's nearly always on dry, seasoned wood, I rarely do felling.

 

Our husqvarna 357xp is about 10 years old I think and on the odd occasion I do take it apart there's not even enough dust to be worth doing anything.

I give mine a blow job when it gets in range of airline. Otherwise I work on the principal that if you never grease it lasts ok,if you do it regularly then good,but sporadic greasing is bad.

I stopped greasing them years a go when I had a couple let go . I put it down to fine particles of grit and crud sticking to the grease and acting like grinding past . Since I stopped never had one fail .
