Tiny echo!

Rob, I think echo should at least give us a third option that is to get the larger 360. I was never interested in the 280, as it was the power to weight ratio of the 2510 I was after. Now that's out the window. Many customers will have different requirements. I don't need 2 small saws. The larger unit would be a better fit in my scenario. I'd be interested to hear what others think?

Actually that's a very good point.

I hadn't looked at the specs of the 280. I can see that it's a light weight option compared to the 360 but with the 2510 now in the product range, the 280 is a nonsense saw.

I would also take a 360 as an interim saw then buy it when my 2511 comes through.

I had a 350 a few years ago and thought it was a great saw.

Nah, that's not really an option. First of, that saw is in a different league and second, that saw is hot as hell on your leg too. I have put self adhesive insulating foam on the bottom and fixed an extra ring on the saw to keep the 'cool' side in the right direction of my hip.

Dang, thinking of it. It has been 1986 since I had my last burn marks in my hip. That was when the grate in front of my first model Stihl 020AV exhaust was still non existent.

Because of the risk of a fire I haven't been using my 2510 today for repollarding a Eucalyptus or cutting the side back on a big Privet hedge, however, I have noticed during the last week (when I haven't been using it) that fatigue levels are vastly reduced.

I haven't experimented, because I haven't been using it, and found that I use more effort working with a sharp Silky than I do with the 2510. Unexpected but true.

So please Echo, hurry up with the 2511 as it will truly be the best saw in the world because the 2510 is already.

Even though I'm not using it any more.

The 280 is still a great solid little saw. The 360 feels and looks like a Christmas turkey and sounds like an old vespa

yep i also run a 360TES and it's a fair ole bus when it's fitted with a 14'' b&c. good saw though.

I think the Echo offer is fair - and it's not open for negociation as far as I'm aware....

I will try and ask them to give me the Echo 280s with a 1/4" sprocket so all our customers can continue to use the thin bars and chains...

That or I'll retro fit them - bear in mind the CS280s will likely be running 3/8 lo pro as standard.

Rod D, I bought my 2510 from you with the stihl 0.43 c&b option, shud i remove said chain and bar and hang onto it or send it back with the 2510 ? Not sure if i kept the cardboard box the saw arrived in though.
