Tiny echo!

I gather the stihl bar will fit directly onto the echo and the echo comes with a 1/4 sprocket so no need to change that so the only real cost if you switch is around £27 for a bar plus the chain (think from the rob d email the chain needs one more link?)

I'm gonna run mine standard for the life of the first chain and buy the stihl bar if I feel it needs it

Not according to this email and I read that post as meaning the echo 260 (earlier model)

There's also a vid linked in the email that doesn't mention drilling also one put up yesterday but is Spanish or similar so can't tell but looks like goes straight on

It's hardly a level playing field with the standard bar. I wouldn't even consider running one without the 0.043 chain.

 

The bar will fit without modification, the chain requires an extra drive link.

 

Speaking to Rob, apparently there'll be a Sugi bar in 0.043 available soon.
