Roughly what are your percentages?

I have just got my year end June 2015 back and I am at about 25% costs before capital allowances. No idea how this compares to other businesses.

So 75% of your turnover is profit??

If so you are running a very tight ship!!, IMO, wish I could manage that!!!:thumbup1:

Not quite,

That is before asset depreciation.

However you are right, very efficient. I have very low staff costs and lots of machinery (in comparison to my turnover). Also I work like a dog to keep up, however that will be changing as I near 30 so will lose some of that efficiency.

I am interested in other peoples percentages though????

Best we've done is 60%. I'm hoping we will improve this year as we shouldn't need to buy so much kit this year. Perhaps be a bit stricter with the guys (and myself) about looking after their PPE. Like Stephen says.... Look after the pennies. It's such an obvious simple statement but so true.

60% profit is good isn't it?

"Looking after the pennies" is OK, but you have to "speculate to accumulate", if I had simply looked after the pennies I would still be running a transit and tow behind.

Which is also true. Last two years were expensive for kit and the mog had new tyres and a clutch kit. Hopefully we will reap the rewards this year.
