Log seasoning and storage what to do

From talking to a chap who uses poly tunnels to dry logs you set them up on slight hill. As the tunnel heats up the hot naturally rises going out the higher end drawing fresh air in the lower end. You could use IBCs in these or just the crates on their own with lids like this. The poly tunnel will be quicker but the crates will dry logs if filled by the spring ready for the following winter.

Saw a chap that had used heras fencing made it into squares filled it with logs and then covered the top with a tarpaulin. Looked like a relatively cheap effective storage idea.

 

I tried that but you will have to find a way of strengthening the panels as the welds just pop off.

Could you run a ratchet strap around it as a brace?

 

It tends to be the middle of the panel that bulges and causes problems.

 

A couple of lengths of scaffold board to support the mesh and braced across the enclosure with something as simple as a length of polly prop solves the problem
