Meetings with remarkable trees, the Arbtalk version

Thinking about what photos I've got on various devices and what makes a remarkable tree, I started to consider how trees grow, their defence mechanisms and strategies, their size and some species longevity. The more I learn the more I personally think they all remarkable in one way or another.

 

Apologies if this is a bit outside the purpose of the thread, but maybe food for thought and another perspective on remarkable trees!

Thought I'd pop this small but great vet oak in here. I drive past it a fair bit it's on a golf course and I've been meaning to get pics. This thread prompted that.
