Surely, if you look at your quote serial numbers against your invoice numbers the percentages are easy to establish year by year no?

That's how we do it anyway.

Ty

I don't keep quotes and they aren't serial numbered which would certainly help. Sometimes looking at the stats make you wonder if it's worth it, well for me anyway.:001_smile:

Does make far better business sense to record these things though.

On new quotes i would say close to 60% but my business runs on repeat work and referrals, so they would be close to 80%, As I'm sure we have all experienced regardless of your history with one client the new client you meet it just does not click.

Interesting thread :thumbup1:

The target conversion rate, in itself, doesn't mean a lot.

It can be measured by percentage of quote values, or more sensibly, percentage of estimated profit.

On this basis I would rather miss out on the 'marginal' stuff or the 'hassle' jobs.

It also depends on the amount of work you have on. If you are chokker-block then why try to get the crudworthy jobs?

It's been said on here before, profit is a measure of success, turnover is just how hard youve been working.

Ma valise est restee.
