As requested some photos of the cutters, keep in mind that this is the first time the chain has been sharpened.

Obviously this is a semi chisel so can't comment on its ability to create a nice point on a full chisel but will test it on a full chisel soon.

if you look at the cutter its tapered at start so it will cut metal out before a straight barrel bit for evan finnish.

Correct, the carbide cutters are tapered for the 1st half inch (ish) so yes it begins removing metal before the cutters is all the way through the barrel, the taper isn't massively aggressive as you can see in the photo. Therefore if the chain is really damaged you would have to go round the chain a couple of times. ImageUploadedByArbtalk1455100552.316119.jpg.319f8c270117220c6a7406ea8c4444bb.jpg

Ouch, just seen the price! Couldn't justify that even if I was a millionaire (maybe I'm just tight :) does look like a well made bit of kit though. How much are the replacement cutters? (says they last 40-80 uses)

Doesn't look like it's done a good job sharpening, not enough hook on the teeth, what did it cut like?

I don't think it looks too bad. Thought most hook should be around 80 degrees and that looks around that. New Page 1
