Best start up set up for processing

Wanting to start selling firewood on a small scale what equipment will I need what's best saw to use size wise and best way to ring the wood

Whats your budget? What sort of size timber are you going to be sourcing?

If your budget is 200k you should be ok.if not then an axe and saw will be hard way to earn a living

Not sure it's one of them growing ones buy as I go along and grow. Looking at a petrol splitter about £1600 . Sourcing is mostly local so not timber arctics more tipper loads of local tree surgeons so not sure of size yet.

 

Just trying to work out best way of cutting to rings to put on the splitter?

Get a big saw. Spend 600-700 on a 365 or equivalent.

That's how we started, two of us with one saw and a tractor splitter can do 15-20 cube in a day. That's what I'd go for!

What cc is the 365? As I'd want the Stihl equivalent

The old stihl 361 was a great saw, I guess the modern equivalent is the 362!

They're 70cc now, the older ones a are 65
