Just picked up the 2016 Stihl catalogue (UK), and it looks like the 261 and the 362 has had an update. I was wondering if they are coming to the uk and if they are, when will they be coming??

Would that up grade include a clutch bearing that is not by Cadburys ?

They made them out of the same stuff that husky made the 540

From I think - only just robust enough for crisp packets!

They are underrated work horses - I am looking forward to the updated models

it sure needs it, our 261 has been a pig with the needle bearing, replacing , greasing every day etc!! our old 260 has been thrashed for about 10years never greased the bearing let alone replaced it, cant see how sthil got this so wrong really.. oh well . carl

I use a 2014 ms261 for ground work and chunking/logging trunks on the ground it's a real work horse, the only problem is that it's a real screamer from the exhaust. It's painful even with hearing protection.

I'd much rather use my old 250 or 391 which have a more mellow exhaust note, if I were to update my saw to a new 261 I'd have to try a test run
