Whatever you use, it will not last long. Maintenance is a constant not an occasional issue. I am often shocked at the state of some of them I see doing inspections on something that is both critical & high usage

I clean with water, dry with airline then use SAS lubricant, get it all nicely worked in then a quick blast with the airline again to blow off all excess lubricant. Done this for 3 year and not had any bother

I would. WD40 is part solvent and not a very good or persistent lubricant. The manufacturers state: "It does not attract dirt or moisture to metal surfaces."

 

Its an oil, stuff will stick to it, ok so it wont attract stuff but that's just how the seller has phrased the blurb
