A friend of mine bought an old chainsaw from a carboot . He took it home did not work of course he then cleaned the fuel tank and refilled and it started runs like a dream:lol: You should have bought it.

I think that saw has a plastic ring which the dogs on the starter recoil dig into to turn the flywheel. I still have a spare plastic ring for one in my spares box

That saw is horrible......i had one and couldnt wait to get rid!! I think i may have an old disc cutter with the same powerhead on it too!!!!! Hideous.

Thursday I was at the place I get my Chipper Knives sharpened and there was a MS170 lying there in a box.I have been trying to turn one of them into somthing usefull so I asked if it was knackered and if I could have it.

 

The guy said take it away,he reckoned it has been fed neat Fuel and had blown the Rings.I took it home,tightend up the Spark Plug and used it to cut up some Pallets yesterday.

 

Result!
