Does anyone know whats up with my general saws its doing something strange. It works as normal! power out put etc. Its just when I need to under cut, cut on top side of bar, the power drops of. Will take to bits at weekend to look at silencer and carb., but this does not seem logic why power in normal cut. Was thinking clutch bell could be miss shaped! but looks good. any one an idea:001_smile:

If your using a pushing chain or top end of the bar to undercut the fuel will be dropping to one side of fuel tank.Take the fuel cap off and make sure the fuel filter isnt jammed at one side of the tank.

While your doin that check the fuel line in the petrol tank for twists or flat areas.

Im no expert but this has happend to me

Throttle linkage may be changing position when you pull up..Have had this happen with some earlier Husqvarna saws.

My 272 does this, and i have never found out why.

The 200 group of saws are rigid mounted carb to cylinder rather than a boot and the throttle/ trigger linkage has the tendency to "not" keep a even pressure on the end of the throttle rod after a while . Pulling up can slacken the pressure from the trigger tab in the back handle as it flexes on the AV mounts.

You may even find the carb isn't getting full throttle when you depress the trigger under some other conditions. I check them out on the bench without the saw running to see if the throttle is hitting max when you pull the trigger.Iv re bent the rod on a few saws (254, 262 ) to take up some of the wear. The tab on the trigger in the handle gives a element of shock and distance absorbing as the saw flexes. Worth a look maybe.
