Look what the latest prize in this years raffle is!

Recommended Posts

Sorry I should have put in the original post, proof of professional qualification will be required for this on handover

Also will have to be picked up from Stihl due to there handover policy.

Great prize - sham they don't keep it so that their future engineers know what a decent saw is and can base future models on it.

I'll have to dig deep this year - this prize will probably double the tally.

Does this apply to both saws or just the top-handled one?

(I've no arb qualifications of any sort, and no idea of the regulations).

(actually, I don't fancy the top-handled one, I'm a farmer after all.....).

Are there even any legal rules on this for the top handles?

I've no interest in climbing a tree full stop by the way and would not want a top handle saw as the ms170 I use now and then is dangerous enough for me😡😡

No not legal requirements just HSE recommendations, Stihl will however quite happily sell a homeowner who has never used a chainsaw in their life before an 880 with a 4' bar for their own use & said person could go on to use it to prune a few trees in their garden off a ladder with no repercussions whatsoever from either Stihl or the HSE when things go horribly wrong.
