Yeah the crane was on from new!! I will replace it over time and move the crane to the rear. Just trying to do it right and to the best level I can afford.

If you are going to replace crane and mount it on rear why have you not fit a 3 way tip as you will need to with crane on rear

Because it's what it has and I'd rather pump the money into other parts that blow a good wedge on the additional tipping gear.

Hi Ian, mog looks great. We are in a similar boat but struggling to work out licencing and registration and such. What is yours registered as and how are you coping with a licence for it? Weights etc....

 

We was thinking about just registering it on Agric but then domestic work is out of the equation unless we take the risk.

 

Just wondering how others are doing there mogs.

mines is registered as agri, but I wouldnt touch domestic stuff for love or money, dont need the hassle or grief, I fell and mill trees, not prune bushes

A fair few people appear to using them domestically, which raises the question, what are they classing them as?

Its irrelevant what its classed as, its what its used for that's going to be the issue.

the minute you start using them for anything other than whats prescribed in "the rools", they cease to be an agricultural machine, and become either a 10 tonne truck or a special purpose vehicle(an even bigger can of worms)....it isnt worth it

Exactly. We've gone for a restricted o license route.

 

It's a special tool but it's not agricultural use I'm using it for. Mainly highways work which does cover it to use red as we're doing horticultural works too. But it will still be run on white.

 

It's a bit like if you have s tractor or tele handler. There's an explanation that states if it not agricultural, highways or construction sites. They should be ran on white. Last week a farmer got done for hauling a trailer load of firewood down the road on red. Vosa are heavily patrolling our area and dipping all commercial vehicles tanks recently.
