Painting Marine Ply

I feel let down. I opened this thread thinking it was titled "planting marine ply" . Thought someone had sussed how to grow it.

use a bitumen paint, it'll double the lifespan of the ply.

 

How long does this take to soak in? Do you need to sand ply down first?

thinning it with creosote means it soaks in really well to a good depth.

any good quality oil based outdoor paint, well thinned for first couple of coats, then slap it on, especially on cut edges. your trying to prevent ingress of moisture, nothing magical

Creosote and waste oil . Lasts for years and smells ...

Genuine marine ply needs no treatment it is VERY durable in outdoor situations ...OK to paint to match truck if required ...
