Holly as firewood

Anyone had any first hand experience of burning holly when correctly seasoned. The firewood poem says it's poor, but I've burnt many a poor wood before with no problems and plenty of heat.

Dry holly is an excellent firewood - it burns very hot with a lovely flame picture. Burning some on our Vision 500 as I type.

Burns green but don't try and start a fire of with it or you will be there till next Christmas.

I thought it was a highly rated firewood....which it is in my experience. However all dry wood seems pretty good to me

Really good firewood, I will take as much as I can get. Burns hot and clean

I would consider it a poor choice to burn such a slow grown wood like holly. A lot of timber artisans would reveal lovely items encapsulated in such a timber as that...............

 

It an awful waste to burn Holly..................

Good stuff as far as I am concerned . Supposed to be bad luck though if your into old wives tails.....
