Sorry just realised the one in the link is not for road use :blushing:

The rock machinery splitter is sold as a road tow but only up to 45mph :001_huh:

Andy - a friend in Kincraig bought a Venom 22t on my suggestion last year and he is delighted with it. I used it the other day on the knottiest pine/larch imaginable and burr elm and it did the lot. If it couldn't split it, it cut it. It could be a bit better, ergonomically speaking, but for the money you'll not go wrong. I did 5 cube of brutally tough timber in 3 hours on about 3 litres of petrol. It also fits nicely in the back of the van.

If you are in Kincraig, give me a shout. I'm sure Mike would be happy to demo the machine for you.

We've just bought the rt400, not really been put through its paces yet but pleased so far.

Hi, I'd be very interested to see what you think of the rt400. Can you split at waist height or is it mainly for billets?

It's a great machine, and excellent build quality. Had mine just over a year now and very pleased with it. Done all sorts, from Knotty softwoods to very large ash rounds which have been sitting for a year, and nothing can stop it. Very helpful staff on the end of the phone, and the £100 build up fee is worth it. The only issue is the 4 way splitter. If you let it go all the way back, it can cause damage to the machine (bending a couple of bits of metal), so you have to stop the ram short on its return. But otherwise, it's bloody brilliant. I haven't done any road towing as it goes in the trailer.

Uniforest 14 BMF road tow for us, had a few minor issues with it but are now sorted through Riko. Not found anything it wont go through yet, 1 man can do 10 ibc cages steady away on his own :thumbup1:

You can only split at waist height i think, it's only horizontal when towing.

Max log length of 18" so no billets.

Impressed with it so far but not been used too much. Prob only done 3 cube
