Price of processed logs per m3

Erm, gents, the price of ANY fuel, is driven by oil.

Since oil is now dirt cheap again, this will inevitably drive down the price for other fuels.

Never mind the (however short term) glut of fracked gas.

Simple basic Capitalism at work.

Don't think fuel prices have much to do with it. Deliver to plenty of folks who have mains gas. Can't get much cheaper than that yet they choose to burn logs for the joy of having a real fire. Not changed our prices this year still asking £100 m3 and more demand than last year.

OP just because someone is selling cheap logs doesn't mean they won't pay more to buy from someone they trust. Loads of sellers about knocking out cheap logs but the phone still rings.

Someone here (north Devon) selling dumpy bag ,hard £50 and soft £40,

How the hell can compete. ..

That is the trouble with dumpy ,builders ,jumbo or what ever you want to call them bags where is the volume stated ,are they .5 .6 .7 or what

If they are .5 that makes them £100 and £80 a cubic metre and that seems pretty good.Roll on the day when all logs have to be sold by a stated volume.

Cheers Chris.

I see far more people selling logs at £60 per m3 than people selling at £100- £120. Does that mean they are over charging?

Surely people selling at £60 per m3 will still be making a profit otherwise there would be no point doing it. If they can get the timber cheaper and make a profit at £60 why not sell them at that price?

These people must be getting the wood for free or next to nothing?

Unless it's the heat allowance thing?
