  3. Cover has been sourced. £75 from a local firm. Just hope it fits now...
  4. Going to have them on speed dial! I will be attempting it in my 23 yr old truck. 2000mile round trip..
  5. I am going to be doing a charity convoy with my 110 high capacity. *http://www.landroverconvoy2016.com/ Any ideas where I can get a Tonneau cover from? Really needs to be water proof or is it best to take some time over constructing a cover? Any ideas and photos would be helpfull if any anyone else has got or made something. Thanks
  6. I used the Titan pro 15hp Beaver narrow access chipper the other day. Chipped well over 4in while also dragging the brash in. A very good design. Impressed!
  7. Has anyone had experience with these guys? 15HP Towable Petrol Chipper | MDL Power Up I am liking the idea of the shredder rather than chipper. Looks more capable tackling gnarly branches.
  8. Seems bit precise but 115cm high, 177cm length, and 60cm width /opening for a door, ideally somthing around that size.
  9. I am after a truck locker or storage unit to fit on my tipper. As I need aome where secure to store some tools and kit while on the road. I have looked at Ebay and gumtree. Anyone got any ideas where I can get a second hand storage unit from?
  10. Thanks I will check. Flanges are certainly cheaper than half shafts!
  11. I will not be getting rid of it. Its a great truck. First major problem I have encountered since I have owned it.
  12. I would appreciate some advice. This morning I was driving my 1993 Defender 110 High Capacity. I pulled out of a junction and lost drive. Had a look underneath, nothing had dropped off! Wacked it into diff lock and off I drove to the nearest layby. Now that I have got it home I am trying to find what has gone wrong. My thought was that one of the front half shafts have broken as the rear wheels drive. I have jacked the front wheels up seperate and they both turn freely.. Surely if it is a half shaft one wheel should turn the prop and one should free wheel? could both shafts have broken? Is it something else? I have tried researching but cant seem to find a solid answer. Before I start taking the truck apart it would be nice if I knew where to start! Has anyone had a problem like this?? Many thanks!
  13. I need to get 3 new number plates made up. Not keen on them from halfords at 15.99ea. Anyone got any idea where I can get them cheaper? Thanks!
  14. Unsure on budget at the moment. Basically just been looking around to see what abouts. So if its pre 1982 and doesnt have a plate its all about board? Just go by what the tyres and suspension are rated at? If its post 1982 it has to have a plate or you cant legally tow it. Does it matter if its in kg or cwt?
  15. I have tried looking for a similer thread but could find one, so apologies if this has already been discussed. Im looking for a twin axle trailer that doesnt cost a fortune but need it to be legal. Does it have to have a plated weight stated on the trailer? I have come across some in Kgs, some in cwt and some with none. Any advice would be real helpfull Thanks!
  16. Just popped into my head. Might be a stupid question but... What do other tree surgeons do about the nesting season? Does work continue after getting surveys done or just taking a look in the tree? As long as no nests just continue as normal? I normally get my tree work completed during the winter months but more work than ever looking as though thats not going to happen this year.
  17. Theres quite a few around but was just wondering if anyone can recomend or know of any B + E instructors around the East Anglia area? Details can be pm'd to me Thanks!
  18. I see far more people selling logs at £60 per m3 than people selling at £100- £120. Does that mean they are over charging? Surely people selling at £60 per m3 will still be making a profit otherwise there would be no point doing it. If they can get the timber cheaper and make a profit at £60 why not sell them at that price?
  19. This is one that I witnessed. Excavator broke down while moving stones at the bottom of a harbour wall. It got a little wet!
  20. I manage 40 acres of woodland some of it SSSI but it is not enough to make a living. No where near enough if you have to buy machinery aswell and the out goings keeping it all running.
  21. I have a dodgy oil cap on my long handled Ht75 pole saw. A nightmare! Can take a while to get right.
  22. 4 posts and some wire fencing round each tree. Should do the trick?
  23. I have a few trees to plant and occasionally there is a horse present. Anyone know of an effective way or guards to protect 4ft trees from the grasp of a horse?
  24. Here is my little tractor. Amazing for the size wouldnt be without it.
