If I charged £150 a day like you. Here's how it would split it. £50 for the company towards tools, insurance ,pricing of jobs etc. £60 for me and £40 fir the helper. This is paper round money. Not skilled labour money. Primary reason for business is to make money.

I tried that but strangely when I asked my dad for advice after struggling for 2 years business has gone in the right Direction.

If you keep going as you are you will learn the hard way and maybe that's what you need to do to prove things to him.

 

A question for you. Why have you bought the jd ride on if you have no business for it?

You need to fill your time first. Then pick and choose which direction to take.

Bought the JD as saved some money to start all this business and saw on eBay at a god price so purchased it !

Most of us run successful businesses and have worked hard to build up a good reputation, we find it hard to see the industry being de valued.

I thought I shouldn't charge too much as I'm a beginner and want to get clients, after reading a lot of posts I will be certainly charging more !

Bird you are doing ok and the guys are just pointing out that you need to take a look at your costings while making sure depreciation of kit is dialed into your pricing strategy. I think its important to make your own mistakes on pricing and learn from that, I still drop the odd clanger as many on here do. Good luck on your new adventure.

Might have been a good price but you need the money for what you will use now! A website for example.

 

You buying that mower is like me buying a chipper for the 1 time a year it might prove useful!
