90% cut

The Government has said that household carbon based energy use must be cut by 90% by the year 2050.

Any ideas how how this could happen ?

Who will pay for it /

Ground source heat pump £15,000+

Log boiler £10,000 ?

Domestic woodchip boiler, dont even think about it as a single dwelling option by the time you have considered logistics & storage.

How will ypor chainsaws be powered ?

petrol will probably be more expensive than whisky

Not forgetting chain oil, 2 stroke mix and diesel.

Back to the old days of axes & 2 man saws ?

I see it now! battery powered chainsaw and loading wood onto a converted milkfloat.

I intend to drink, laugh, cuss and whore myself to death by 2049.

100% reduction in my omissions.

What are YOU going to do?

Well, being in my late 50's there is only a slim chance of my being around in 2050.

Guess you youngsters will talk about the old days of those awesome petrol chainsaws, how people had energy to waste on stumpgrinding etc and then go back to sharpening your axes !
