Truly spoken joe ,It has more relevance on an Arb site than half the threads of total rubbish that appear and seem to get more prevalent by the day.

 

Couldnt agree more :congrats:

 

I dont have any old ones left, but I do remember a favourite screwgate that was a fairly biggish sort of offset D shape with a purple screwgate.

 

Anyone know who made that one?

This is the first biner I ever owned

 

Its a DMM made for Field and Trek. I have owned it since 1987 but it wasn't new when it came to me, I have a pair of Bashlins of the same vintage but I am all out of three strand nylon.

 

Its currently in temporary (nostalgic) retirement.

 

I also have some mean old biners and plenty of three strand . Most of which is gear from the early 90s . Hey I,m just a hoarder though :biggrin:

Back when I was a kid I couldn't afford alloy krabs so my entire rack consisted of steel krabs which didn't make life any easier. Most of them are still around in some role or another (though not on my climbing rack!) - they date back to the mid 70s
