Hi all. Got a continuing problem with a rising oil level. Had it go from normal level to halfway to max in just 1200 miles. Got it booked in for a full check over but pretty sure there are no fixes available. Believe it's to do with the DPF and short trips gets diesel into the oil but that's my work so can't fix that. It's only a year old and still has 4 years of warranty left. Had planned to keep it for many years but can't imagine diesel in the oil is going to the engine much good in the long term so wondering what to do and what to expect from the dealer.

What is reasonable to expect from the dealer and do all trucks hate doing short trips and dump diesel in the oil?

Thanks

Beau

All trucks don't do it I ran an l200 for 5 years and it never did it. My dad has run rangers for 6 years no trouble and he had a navara as well again no trouble . I'm on a navara now and six months in no problems.

Argue until it's fixed

Well it cant be over fueling has there will be a lot of black smoke so I would say a internal leak with the injection system that is leaking some how into the crank case .

This problem is quite well documented, Isuzu have buried their head in the sand which is what they did when they had problems with the old trooper 3ltr engine. If its on lease purchase I would park it up on the forecourt where it came from and tell them payments will be stopped until its repaired.

Where's normal level then?

Roughly what volume increase would you say? How long did it take you to cover 1,200 miles and what sort of driving.

There are other things that could be causing it. Leaking injectors or high pressure fuel pump?

Same problem happens with LR TD5? Fuel in oil... To check, touch dipstick on blue paper, see how fast the oil drop spreads, derv will spread out rapidly, lube oil less so. You might see some separation. Smell if you are nasally tuned enough. Think Shavey on here can tell you about cracked head causing same thing. Don't see why dpf should cause it.
