I am starting to get lots of firewood which I am splitting and stacking on pallets in my yard. I want to waterproof this wood but am struggling to do more than putting a tarp over it which isn't much use longterm. Does anyone shrink wrap their firewood on pallets, can this be done?? Any other ideas, though I should say I am not able to put a barn/store in due to planning restrictions? Thanks.

Only cover the top or it will not season if you stop the atmosphere getting to it and it will probably mildew as well. Better left open to the elements than wrapped completely.

Get hold of some IBC tanks and make up some stores like these. Cut the inner tank at an angle to make some lids. Each plastic tank will make 2 lids so you could use the spares to cover the logs you have already stacked by putting some screws through the lid into the logs.

Jon it works on Dartmoor I am pretty sure it can cope with Somerset rain :thumbup1:

A bit blows in on the sides when it's windy but drys out fine when the rain is not horizontal.

I use another pallet with 1000 gauge membrane stapled to it. Seems to keep most of the weather off.

Plus you stack 2 or 3 high using a plain pallet on top of each bag and then have the covered pallet on the top.
