You say that but i run a transit 90. I can fully load it up and with trailer, tracked chipper and stump grinder on the back 2250kg it will still pull ok and get up to 50-60mph. What more can you want then that?

Is the 2250kg the trailer weight?

Is that also its max trailer weight? My V5 says 2750 for my mk6 but the gross weight is 5750 and the plate on the van has 2250 for the towing weight.

I'm not saying a 90bhp wouldn't do the job it's just a tracked chipper plus plant trailer is a heavy load & combined that with a truck load of chip and it's a lot to ask of the truck,

And this is the problem with 3.5 ton tippers ( its not a dig at you Joel) , a chipper like that has an output of over six tons an hour which on some jobs could mean emptying the truck more than working

get a tractor with big pto chipper on front, winch on back, tell them you'll come back for the chip when you get a spare hour

Then you have the potential problems of the legalisation, fuel, taxation class etc. unfortunately in this country due to the EU noose and our own countries attitude to allowing feasible working equipment we are always chasing round in circles, whereas somewhere like Sweden seems to see a problem, acknowledge it, deal with it.

Meanwhile the unscrupulous carry on earning cash and avoiding it all.
