How have you older climbers changed your style in the last few years.

I'm slower and more safety conscious. I don't rush to smash the job out anymore; it takes as long as it takes. I'm also trying to practice my SRT as much as I can. Access only at this stage although I've done one work climb I'm still not that comfortable with using if for much more than straight access. I think the biggest change though for me is more about the prep. Making sure my site is set up properly, hazard ID done and we actually have. Proper discussion about what we're going to do and how we're going to do it.

The concept of SRT's more alluring when the ropes dynamic and the climber has no stinking tail encumbering them whatsoever.

I want a single rope to do the up n down, in n out for me!

I'm gettin old, weak n feeble, I need help, all I can finaggle!

Question , at what age do you become an older climber ..?

and I've adopted gadgets and gizmos along the ways , SRT for access and snap out in pines also take the time to set up and do something right once then struggle doing it 3/4 times.

Good work positioning always make sure i can see what I'm cutting , and really dig those spikes in when I'm blocking down no slippy slippy !

Take better care of my kit too wash my ropes now and again they last loneger
