How have you older climbers changed your style in the last few years.

I always used to race to the top of the tree then come down to start at the bottom (on a dismantle)

I'm more likely these days to get to half way, anchor in and deal with lower branches then move further up.

Seems easier.

I have nearly always done that !! .............................................................................. In response to the original question ..... I have not really changed style to be honest , it is hard work, always has been and always will be you just become hardened to it to some extent , ground work and other aspects of the work are just as hard as the climbing .. though Hi abs are used more nowadays ....

Ground work is harder than climbing IMO

Definitely. I do a bit every now and then when I have to set an example and it nigh on kills me. Don't let them see me cry though!

I wonder perhaps if as competent climbers we find it easier to climb as that's what we do, so we're conditioned for it and have found ways to make life easier and more efficient.

I'm currently training a new guy to climb. He makes ground work look easy but climbing look like very hard work.

A climber can stop, and look at stuff on the pretext of planning, never really an excuse for a groundy to stand still!
