Ha chill out its not just the twist cap, just fancy something different...

I am, it's just funny watching people getting wound up when someone doesn't like the saw they use.

 

I agree in part about the transit but in regards to the stupid weight limit we need to stick to, makes all 3.5t trucks fairly useless if used legally in this industry.

 

I've only ever used very old dolmars (sachs ones) which long time ago and an echo also a long time ago. So I couldn't comment on if the recent machines are any good or not.

Forum would be a bit boring without a good old which is the best chainsaw debate.

 

 

 

There would just be more threads asking how many fingers I am holding up with spin off threads asking how many fingers should I be holding up and what are the best fingers to hold up.

 

 

 

The reason stihl and husky seem more unreliable is because there are more of them in use and people only usually post when they have an issue imo.

 

 

 

Look at the Ford transit, in reality a good truck used and abused by loads of people daily. If you only believed what you read on the internet you would never buy one.

 

 

 

If you can't get your twist cap to work properly it's either faulty or your using it incorrectly.

Seems like some of the caps distort due to exposure to fuel with ethanol

One of my caps broke in service & the replacement does seem a bit better, the oil cap continues to be a fiddle no matter what.

 

They also needs a clean around the cap & the actual cap once removed to prevent sawdust/dirt ingress into the tank.

I had a faulty fuel cap on my FS56 strimmer , so looked up on the Net and I too found the above information. So , I took my strimmer round to the local dealer and told him….. he hadn't heard of any recall ( obviously as it was in USA )….. I bought a new cap.

The new one had the black line on top……the old one didn't.

Works fine now though :)

 

Was wondering if the fuel tank also distorts ?

Hi Maria,

 

Im not sure how recalls work but perhaps just applies in the USA? I wouldnt have thought the tank distorts though.

 

However when my fuel cap broke the replacement seemed slightly different also with a black line on it & helps alignment as I marked the tank with an indelible pen.

 

So this seems to work fine, but the oil one remains a fiddle & I personally prefer the screw in type.
