Hi,

I need a more appropriate set up to do bigger jobs. Currently I subbie as a climber 3-4 days p/w and do my own jobs (a mixture of tree work and general gardening) 1-2 days. So far I have been managing fitting 2 tonne bags in the family car! I am looking to hire a chipper sometimes. The vehicle needs to be the main family car also. Price range of 5-10k.

Options I am considering:

One option is getting a towbar, but I have nowhere to store a trailer!:confused1: or buy a 7 seat mpv with towbar and rent trailer storage.

Buy a 4wd double cab and make greedy boards, but I don't really need 4wd and they are pricey to run.

Any other suggestions or recommendations welcome!

jfc.

I've got a 55 plate Nissan Navara Aventura, top spec for sale. Has all the mod cons. It's a crew cab so you have the 5 seats with adequate seating and isofix points and you've also got the back bit for waste products. 155,000 miles with part service history. MOT til end of November. Yours for £4.5 k.

4x4 with tipping trailer I think would cover most options. Consider asking to store your trailer at one of the guys yards you sub for in return for beer/anything else relatively cheap/easy for you. *maybe any wood you get from your private jobs =less for you to dispose of.

Invest in good trailer hitch locks.

Willtimberlake - thanks but it isa bit older than I am looking for. Dorset is also nearly a 1000mile round trip to have a look at it!

Ian -not thought of asking them to store it, unfortunately the yard is 15 mile away from my house, but it might work in the interim. I will ask the boss.
