thread reminds me of this poor soul from a while back

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2179307/Barking-Gardener-fined-6-000-neighbour-snapped-perched-treetop-holding-chainsaw.html

- I used to top conifers this way before I splashed out on climbing gear.

I don't like chainsaw trousers and the main reason I wear them on occaision is busy body neighbours like the greedy tool who shopped this bloke, 'I'm an assessor, better do the right thing and tell the HSE' nothing to do with him and his job of being well paid for not doing much, just bullying people into being funneled into the lucrative assessment system

I wouldn't put myself in that situation and judging by the sound of it the guy was not being to careful. No PPE including a lid with a saw up a tree, can't help but think maybe the recession hit this poor soul a little harder than the rest (anything to earn a penny).

However the busy body neighbour is exactly the sort of person who gets on my tits. It's the kind of person who is always looking to moan and drop other people in it, I'm sure they would have taken pictures even if it was a qualified arborist and waited for an accident. The kind that come out and watch every move you make putting you on edge.

Amazing how many elf n safety brigade take pictures of people doing things they consider wrong and/or dangerous.......but do nothing to stop them continuing.....then take the moral high ground.

That was deemed "silence is consent" where I used to work if a Groundie returned to the yard and complained to the line manager about something dangerous he'd seen the likely hood was that the Groundie would also get an ear full for allowing it to carry on...

Yeah, its amazing isn't it, errr, how many is that?, I mean how many is it that "take pictures" and "do nothing to stop them continuing". Do you have any details or are you just speculating?

Are we really complaining about here about nothing happening to address cowboy contractors while yet in other threads complaining that people do act?

Tis a no win situation it seems. I would offer to do the job at a price and make everyone's lives easier and safer. And if they don't want my help leave them to it. I wouldn't do anything else unless other people were in danger. If Something gets damaged let them sort it out.

People do stupid things all the time and the likelihood that these Cowboys will listen to you is slim at best. And you don't want to end up being chased off with a pissed off ***** with a chainsaw. Just my opinion.

Not wearing proper ppe.

Haven't worn chainsaw keks or boots for months.

Mmmm guilty here also :blushing: I always have my boots on especially when hedge cutting :001_tt2: Gotta love a bit of denim at work . I,m a big fan of chaps in the summer months . Although when summer turns up its to hot to wear them :confused1:

When I,m ringing up timber I do always wear my trusty chaps .
